Freehold is a special place - just ask lifelong resident Torna Brown Bell, a local business owner and member of the Bethel AME Church in Freehold. She recognized a need within the community during the pandemic when she realized that food items were donated plentifully during Thanksgiving and Christmas, but families still needed help after the holidays had passed. She reached out to her friends and began a grassroots campaign to launch a food pantry from the church. They now help to feed over 250 families in need...weekly! Torna talks about growing up in Freehold, and what it took to build a successful food pantry.
